Doug Merz, Owner & President
Doug Merz has headed Merz Physical Therapy at The Marsh since 1996. He specializes in acute biomechanical assessment and prescription of safe, effective therapeutic exercise protocols to help patients manage their conditions independently.
Using the resources at The Marsh, Doug has also developed an active network of alternative medical practitioners in the Metro area to help meet the needs of those suffering from acute and chronic conditions. He is a firm believer in the power of Yoga to promote long-term wellness, and recommends core strengthening, breath work and stretching in a variety of poses. Doug’s special interest is the ankle/foot complex and its influence on the lower kinetic chain and he often lends his expertise to other Physical Therapists and clinics in the Metro area.
In his spare time, Doug volunteers for the We Can Ride Corporation providing therapeutic horse back riding lessons to physically and mentally challenged adults and children. He is fluent in Spanish, and continues to be amazed how often it comes in handy.
